I’m new to Pixels. What do I need to know?

What is Pixels?

Pixels helps designers, bloggers and everyone who is looking for an image to find great photos that you can use everywhere for free.

What is the license of the photos on Pixels?

All photos uploaded on Pixels are licensed under the Pixels license. This means you can use them for free for personal and commercial purposes. For more information read the following questions, our license page or our Terms of Service.

Can I use the photos for a commercial project?

Yes, all photos are free for commercial use. You can use them on your commercial website, blog, product or anywhere else. Please note that depicted content in the photos like trademarks, logos or brands may still be protected by e.g. privacy, copyright or trademark rights and you shouldn't imply that the depicted person, brand, trademark or copyright holder of the depicted work is endorsing or taking part in your product or service. For such uses cases you may need the permission or consent of the depicted third parties.

Can I sell Pixels photos?

You can't sell photos licensed under the Pixels License as they are. This also includes selling them as prints (posters, postcards, …) or on physical goods (t-shirts, cups, …). You can only sell them if you edited, modified or otherwise added value. And you're not allowed to sell or upload them on other stock photo or wallpaper platforms.

Do I need to mention the source or the photographer?

No, attribution is not required. But we are always happy if you mention and link to Pixels or the photographer.

What are sponsored photos?

These are photos from partners that provide photos you can buy. You’ll get redirected to their website, if you click on one of their photos. There you can buy the photo.

I want to submit photos to Pixels, what's the process?

Where can I upload my own photos?

Create an account here: https://www.pixels.uniec.com/submit-photos/. All photos you upload will be released under the Pixels license. Read more about the license above or on our license page.

What happens after I uploaded my photos?

The photo curation team of Pixels will choose the best photos and publish them on our home page and in our search. This usually takes a few days. If one of your photos is chosen you’ll get an email notification.

How can I delete a photo?

Click on a photo on your profile. Then you can find a link to delete your photo below the photo except if your photo is already featured on our home page and in the search. In this case please send us the link to your photo to info@pixels.uniec.com.
Keep in mind that if someone already downloaded the photo they can continue using it for free. The Pixels license cannot be revoked.

How can I delete my account?
